Check out this growing belly! Portland Maternity Photographer

Laura came in for her 6 month update–we are doing a series of maternity portraits, with two more scheduled at 7 and 8 months.  Look here for the photos from her 5 month session.  I am working on a composite series, which I will be offering to all my clients starting this summer!  While she was in getting the 6-month pic for the composite, we took some more photos of her dancing, and I thought these two were strikingly similar… with one growing exception of course!

Baby Hank is due in a few short months, can’t wait for the next round of maternity pics… and of course his newborn photos in June!

PoBa Baby Clothing Shoot Spring 2012 | Portland Baby Photographer

I shot the spring line of bibdanas with Crystal Misner of PoBa Clothing last weekend.  It was a totally smooth and fun shoot, and I attribute that to the awesome mamas & daddies who accompanied these adorable babies to the studio!  These guys range in age from 6 months to 1 year+ and were all so sweet and happy throughout.

Crystal has seen a lot of success lately with her unique and fun baby accessories, up-cycled clothing, and waterproof picnic blanket lines.  These product shots will be featured in an upcoming partnership she has with fab.com.  Keep your eyes peeled for this deal because you will never get one of these hand-crafted bibdanas for less!

Pittsburgh Maternity Photographer | Ali W.

Ali came to the studio at about 7 1/2 months, and she is ready for the arrival of her little lady in March!  Her new addition will join big brother Grady, who I photographed in November at Sellwood park.  He is such a cutie and reminds me so much of Jonah!

Ali let me try a couple new things in the studio, including using the XL softbox as a backlight.  I LOVE how these silhouettes turned out and intend to have this be a standard shot for all future maternity sessions.

Best of luck to Ali & family!

Are you looking for a family, maternity, or newborn baby photographer?  Powder Blue Photography offers in-home and in-studio portraits of newborn babies and on-location or in-home maternity and family portraits in and around the Pittsburgh South Hills and Mt. Lebanon.  Please contact Missy to schedule a maternity appointment and a tentative date for your newborn session.  Maternity sessions take place around 35 weeks (depending on mama’s stature), and newborn sessions take place in the first 10 days of life.  Family sessions take place anytime!

Please join me for spring mini sessions to benefit Hayden’s Helping Hands!

I am pleased to offer spring mini sessions at only $50 per child to take place on March 10th at the Warehouse Cafe in Portland!  100% of the session proceeds will go to Hayden’s Helping Hands.

I did a maternity session with Rebekka, the founder of HHH, and from that session I got some of the most beautiful and radiant maternity images I have ever seen!  Such a lovely lady, she started the foundation in 2010 after losing a little one.  I am donating all of the session fees from this day to HHH in the hopes that they can help other families who have experienced the most tragic kind of loss.

I’m looking forward to a fun day… cherishing the memory of children who have passed, and celebrating the lives of our little ones that are here with us.  We mamas are so truly lucky!  Sessions are limited; please call or email today to reserve your preferred time slot.

Laura M. Maternity Dance Photos | Pittsburgh Maternity Photographer | 5 months baby belly

These stunning dance/maternity portraits are of Laura, a dance instructor and mama-to-be in Portland, Oregon at Invictus Dance.  She isn’t due until the end of May, but we are going to meet up every month and get some photos of her growing baby as she progresses in her pregnancy!  Then, finally, we will capture her baby boy as a newborn.

These are the photos that we will use to create a composite of her growing belly (these are at 5 months):

And these are some fun ones that we took because dance is so beautiful and exciting to photograph; can’t wait for the next in the series!
